Steven Roger Hazen
August 5th, 1950 - May 24th, 2018
HAZEN, Steven Roger Steve Hazen was born August 5th, 1950. He passed away peacefully with family by his side May 24th, 2018. Steve was by any measure a great man. He was a dedicated husband to Patsy; a devoted father to Maria, Aida, Teresa, Damian and Bryan; a doting grandfather to Natalie and Langston; and a loving brother to Paul, Diane, Susan and Jeff. He was a builder in every sense of the word. He not only built hundreds of homes and commercial buildings throughout Tucson, changing the landscape of his beloved Old Pueblo, but he also built relationships. Steve cared for everyone who came into his life, giving everything he had to anyone he could. He was very well read and a proud 1972 alumni of Amherst College. Steve was fiercely loyal, honest and trustworthy. He was not only compassionate with people, but particularly animals, having loved Tequila, Sunrise and Daisy. Steve was a very positive person and exceptionally witty; he was able to find humor anywhere he turned and make others see it as well. He exuded excellence and expected no less in return. He was passionate about the environment and adamant about its care. He had a deep love of Music and was exceptionally knowledgeable of rock n' roll bands' members, songs and histories. Later in life, Steve fell in love with Old Pueblo Trolley, a local nonprofit that restores old streetcars, buses and trains to their prior grandeur. His passion and dedication to OPT were second only to the love of his family. No services have been planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve's name to Old Pueblo Trolley, 250 E. 36th St., Tucson, AZ 85713. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.
