CHRISTENSEN, Donald James 12/27/1931 - 9/10/2018 Donald "Don" Christensen was born and raised in the Chicago area where he attended New Trier High School. Don received Bachelors in Business Administration from Northwestern. After serving in the US Army, Don returned to Northwestern where he received a Juris Doctorate. In 1961, Don moved to Prescott Arizona, and in 1963 he married Annegrethe Pilgaard in Aarhus Denmark. Don and Annegrethe returned to Prescott where Don worked for the Valley National Bank, served as the Prescott City Attorney and was appointed as a judge in the City Court. The family moved to Phoenix when Don was appointed as a judge for Phoenix Municipal Court. In 1974, the family moved to Washington when Don served in the Solicitors Office for the Department of Interior. Don and Annegrethe moved to Tucson in 1985 where Don finished out his Career at Bank One. Don was an Eagle Scout, former scoutmaster and supported scouting his entire life. Don was active at Grace St. Paul's Church and the Danish Club of Tucson. Don was a vigorous advocate for mental health and participated in Tucson's Bi-Polar Support Group. Don is survived by his wife, Annegrethe; son, Peter; son-in-law, Mark; nephew, Niller; niece, Alice; grandchildren, Merin, Judin and Joyce and many cousins in Ireland and Denmark. A Memorial Service will take place at Grace St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 2331 E. Adams St. in Tucson on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that gifts in Don's memory be directed to Grace St. Paul's Church, Southern Arizona VA Home Based Primary Care Team or TMC Hospice.
