Donna Marie Watkins

Donna Marie Watkins died peacefully August 30,2012 at the age of 80 at Marquis Care in Hope Village. Donna was born August 3, 1932 to William ("Billy")and Hilda Maxwell in McMinnville, Oregon. Donna graduated from Cascade College in Portland, Oregon in 1955. She married Steve Watkins on August 26, 1955. She was a faithful partner with him in ministry as a pastor's wife for 30 years, opening her heart and home to many. They served Oregon churches in Kinton, Dallas, Roseburg and Portland and in Port Orchard, Washington. Donna and Steve subsequently traveled across eastern Washington, northern Idaho and Montana for nine years where Steve served as District Superintendent to churches there. Donna and Steve then served as missionaries in Outer Mongolia from 1993-1999. They returned from Mongolia and into retirement in 2000 which brought Donna new opportunities of service to her family, friends and community. They moved to Canby, Oregon in January 2003. They were members of Bethany Evangelical Free Church and made many wonderful friends there and also had a visitation to the sick and homebound in the church where they served for several years. Donna enjoyed music, reading, nature, family and friends. She loved Jesus and had a gentle, listening ear for the people in her life and encouraged many. She was peacefully transferred to her real home in Heaven with family by her side on August 30, 2012, just four days after their 57th wedding anniversary. She is deeply loved and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband Steve; four children--Don, Mike, Lynda and Terri; six grandchildren, her brother Harold, extended family Jacque and Michael-Jaye Isome, and many loving friends.
