Anthony Edward Mauras, aka. Tony/Sarge, age 52, passed way in his sleep March 5, 2019. Anthony was born on August 13, 1966 in Revere, MA. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1986 and served three tours overseas. He graduated from Johnson & Wales, College of Culinary Arts. He and his wife, Donna, moved from MA to Tucson, AZ in 1997. His first job was as a chef at Old Tucson movie studio and theme park, but he left that job to start as a bus driver for Sun Tran Bus Company, a job he held just over twenty years. In 2017, he had a surgery that left him with health complications, forcing him to have to quit working as a bus driver. He loved his job at Sun Tran and valued all of the friends he made during those years. Anthony loved sports, particularly Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He enjoyed all types of music. He was very involved with both National Guard and Sun Tran functions, usually as a chef. He is survived by his wife, Donna; mother, Maria Mausas; brothers Pedro Mausas, Jose Mauras, and Dominic Testa. His younger brother, Paul Mauras, pre-deceased him in Feb. 2019. He will be greatly missed for his warmth and wicked sense of humor and great smile. His Memorial Service will be held at Adair Funeral Home, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd, Tucson AZ 85716, on Monday, March 11, 2019, from 4-6 pm. He will be buried in the National Military Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Rest in peace, Anthony, and thank you for your service.
