Roma Page
December 18th, 1919 - May 2nd, 2016
Roma Martindale Page age 96 passed peacefully away on May 2, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born December 18, 1919 in Oakley, Cassia Idaho. She was the fifth child of six born to Joseph Alonzo Martindale and Lucy Ariminda Tinsley. It was a very cold morning and all the pipes in the house were frozen. She started school in Oakley and when she was seven the family moved to Burley. She learned to play the piano at age eight and became a very accomplished pianist. She was active in the LDS church and many of her callings were to use her piano talent. She graduated from Burley High School in 1938. She attended Albion State Normal School where she earned her teaching degree. She taught at the Basin Elementary school in a two room school building. It was here in the Basin that she met her eternal companion Wilton D. Page. They were married in June 21, 1943. To this union were born six children, Dennis (Peggy) Page of Marana, Arizona, DeAnn (Harley) Heward of Burley, Idaho, Kim Page of Tucson, Arizona, Kent Page of Tucson, Arizona, Hal (Late Jeanne) Page of Burley, Idaho, Lucinda (Steve) of Tucson, Arizona They farmed in the View and Unity area in Burley, Idaho for many years raising their family there. In 1965 the family moved to Tucson, Arizona where they purchased a processing dairy. Mom didn't want to leave Burley with her beautiful yards and garden. Her own family was there too. Here own was there too, but she went. The warm weather was easier on the twins. With her skills she soon had a beautiful yard and gorgeous flowers. Mom knew the value of hard work and she loved it. In addition to her meticulously kept yard, her home was immaculate. Her teaching education and skills were put to use all her life in helping her kids and grandkids. Her many stories were told with great accuracy and her knowledge of things was endless. We always had wonderful home cooked meals. We never had cold cereal. Her meals were made from the vegetables and fruits she grew and canned. She loved her family with a passion and gave so much time and service to them. She never complained when the road got rough and it did a lot taking care of a large family and the twins who required extra help. She took care of Dad thru his many illnesses so he could be at home. At ninety-three she started to need a little extra care but she would still keep going and do all she could for herself. She was so valiant, a perfect example of what a daughter of God should be. We, as her children, couldn't ask for a better mother. We love you Mom. She is survived by her six children, 18 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion Wilton D. Page and a daughter in law Jeanne Page, her parents and all her siblings. Services will be Saturday, May 6th at 11:00 with viewing at 10:00 at the Tanque Verde Ward LDS church (Sabino building) at 9541 E. Snyder Rd. Interment at East Lawn Cemetery
