Adair Funeral Home - Dodge
Ruby Alvira Stroup
August 7th, 1930 - September 16th, 2021
Ruby A (Skipper) Stroup, 91, entered into eternal rest on September 16, 2021. Ruby was born on August 7, 1930 to Henry and Florence Huebner in Wichita Kansas. She moved to Tucson in 1957. Ruby was predeceased by her husband Clair B Stroup USAF (retired) in 1992. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Lucile, Freida, and Bob. She is survived by children Michael E. Stroup of St. Louis Mo. and Joy Schaefer of Tucson Az, and 5 grandchildren, Eric Schaefer of Albuquerque, Todd (Sonia) Helmick of Tucson, Cody Schaefer of Chicago, Dylan (Leanne) Schaefer of Tucson, and Johanna (Danny) Ferris of Tucson. She was thrilled to have three great grandchildren, Luke Helmick, Max Helmick, and Sophia Ferris – all from Tucson. Her life was blessed with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. They all have fond memories of adventures with their “Aunt Skipper” Ruby loved to travel and visited all fifty states as well as many foreign countries. She especially loved her trips to Disneyland and could be ready at a moment’s notice when someone said, “Let’s go”. Ruby was an avid Bible student. She attended the church of Christ her whole life, and her written teaching strategies will be used for generations to come. She typed many Bible commentaries for preachers, which were published and still in print. She was not afraid of death, often saying she “had her spiritual bags packed”. A graveside service will be held in Wichita Kansas at Ruby’s request, so she can be buried next to her husband, Clair. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Last Alarm Foundation, Inc. P.O. Box 18408 Tucson, AZ 85731 (to honor her recently deceased son-in-law Harry Schaefer)
