Adair Funeral Home - Dodge
Jay Benson Ramsey
March 18th, 1979 - December 23rd, 2022
Jay Benson Ramsey, 43, a life-long Tucsonan, died at his home suddenly of natural causes Dec. 22, 2022. From an early age, Jay loved going fast and was fearless, be it on skateboards, dirt bikes, or water skis at Lake Roosevelt, where his family camped often. Jay was competitive in baseball as a pitcher, catcher and third basemen and in football as quarterback and then running back. He attended Catalina High School and Catalina Foothills High School. He loved animals, and they loved him, with his boxer Mila and then pittie Emma as his constant companions. Jay worked as a painter at his family’s business, Ramsey Painting. Humorous and kindhearted, Jay related well to kids and was a popular presence working at a local skate shop. A fifth-generation Arizonan, Jay was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Ramsey, and brother, Joshua Ramsey. Survivors include his father, Joe Ben Ramsey; sister Suzanne Hardin (Lucas); niece Helen Hardin; nephew Ramsey Hardin; grandmother, Peggy Ramsey; stepmother Kay McGarvin; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southern Arizona Humane Society. https://hssaz.org/help/donate/
