N LOVING MEMORY Robert A. Kirchberger of Tucson, AZ, passed away in the quiet comfort of his home in the presence of loving family on March 19, 2023. Bob was born on Feb. 24, 1936 in Buffalo, NY, to Herbert A. and Evangeline (Lutz) Kirchberger. He spent his early life in Buffalo and graduated with a PHD from the University of Buffalo. His 35 year teaching career began at the High School level but quickly moved to Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, where he enjoyed a fulfilling time as both a Physical Education teacher and coach of Basketball, skiing and tennis. Bob was most content in the great outdoors and his retirement years were spent with his wife in Montana pursuing his passion for fly fishing but, he also enjoyed bird hunting with his labs, backpacking, hiking, birding and many outdoor sports. Bob was predeceased by his parents and one of his two brothers, Herbert F. Kirchberger. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jana (Thomas) Kirchberger; son, James (Lynne) Kirchberger of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Cindy Kirchberger of Saranac Lake, NY and Lisa (Mark) Moore of Atlanta, GA; his brother, Donald (Carol) Kirchberger of Buffalo, NY, and Sister-in-law, Elaine Kirchberger of Ft. Myers, FL. Bob is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice Family Care and A Caring Touch Matters both of Tucson, AZ, for their compassionate care of Bob during his final days with us.
