David Luther McAdams
September 15th, 1934 - June 2nd, 2023
David L. McAdams passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2023 after a brief illness. David was surrounded by family members at his passing. Born in Rochester, Minnesota on September 15, 1934 to Thomas M. McAdams and Helen E. McAdams, David is survived by three sons and a daughter, Michael J.(Stacia) of Kila, Montana, Mark D.(Deb) and Stephen P.(Connie) of Tucson and Kari L. Copelin (Nick) of Tucson. David is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a sister, Constance Shadow of Centennial, Colorado in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Jone Messer McAdams. David served in the US Navy (1952-1956) aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock. In 1960 David joined the City of Tucson Fire Department retiring after 30 years in 1990 as a Fire Captain. David served the Department with distinction and was awarded the honor of Arizona Fireman of the year (1962) for his acts of courage and heroism in the field. Upon retirement David was very active with the "Last Alarm Foundation". David will be greatly missed by his large and loving family and his community of firefighters. Private Services are pending.
