Obituary of Janice (Price) Seward Janice (Price) Seward, a native of Tucson passed away August 24, 2023, after a lengthy illness. She was 77. The world has lost an incredible woman and heaven gained a beautiful angel. She was loving, caring and selfless to all who knew her. Janice was the daughter of the late Marvin Bliss Price and Claire Elizabeth Price. She graduated in 1964 from Tucson High School and later from the University of Arizona with a Registered Nursing Degree. She went on to work as a nurse at Tucson Medical Center for more than 25 years and later worked at Northwest Hospital. She spent most of her career in critical care. Years later, she underwent specialized training to become qualified for administering peripherally inserted central catheters known as PICC lines. Her husband, Arthur Seward, passed in 1999. Jan and Art worked as a team and as an unconventional family for the times: Art was a full-time father to their children while Janice worked long hours as a nurse to provide for the family. They were married for 33 years. Survived and greatly missed by daughters Kathleen (Jeff) Herron, of Peoria, Arizona; Alicia (Rich) Vellenga, of Tucson; and a son, James (Kari(d)) Seward, of Tucson. Her 9 grandchildren Jamie, Chelsea, Kristen, Madison, Andrew, Genevieve, Carl, Bret and Sean. Her 8 great grandchildren Kaleb, Cash, Koraline, Ezekiel, Brentley, Bennett, Isla and Chloe. Her two beloved nieces Tessa and Dana. In addition to her parents, Janice is predeceased by two sisters, Leslie Price Lee, and Harla Young. We are comforted in knowing that she is now reunited with her cherished dog Mayo. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Sept. 9 from 3:00-5:00 pm. Eulogy at 4:00 pm. All family and friends are welcome. For additional information regarding the “Celebration of Life” please email [email protected]. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that honorariums be made to the donor’s favorite animal shelter.
