Barbara Jean Easley (Hall) August 9, 1942 – September 19, 2023 Barbara Jean Easley (Hall), 81, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona on September 19, 2023, at Tucson Medical Center. Barbara was born in the small river town of Rosiclare, Illinois on August 9, 1942, to the late Charles and Cleta Hall. She is preceded in death by three older brothers, Charles, John, and Marion Hall. She is survived by brother, James (Pam) Flannigan of Tucson. Barbara raised three children, Cheryl (Dan) Prosser, Kathy Easley, and James Lynn Easley III and was surrounded by a family who loved her, including nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Barbara loved being a GREAT grandma and was most proud of her 8 grandchildren: Christel (John) Thompson, Michelle Prosser, Suzanne (Dustin) Stratton, Steven Prosser, Stephanie (Jonathan) Canfield, Scottie Glover, James Easley, Kayla Easley and 6 great grandchildren: Kaden, Avery, and Addy Thompson, Abel Prosser-Christiansen, and Brynley and Cheyenne Stratton. She is also survived by lifelong friend, Dianna Watson. Barbara spent her working years driving a school bus for children with special needs for the Tucson Unified School District. After 32 years, she retired and chose to continue working for the school district for 15 more years as a crossing guard, while also taking on additional jobs, cleaning and providing in home caregiving services. Barbara was a strong and independent woman, dedicated to her family, friends, and neighbors. She had many good friends whom she worked with for years. Even after retiring, she would get together with friends and previous co-workers for birthday and Christmas celebrations. She was the life of the party. Barbara loved the beauty of hummingbirds, working with flowers, and gardening. She maintained a beautiful hedge and rose bushes for much of her life. She worked hard to maintain her yard and took great pride in her work. She will be remembered for being present for every special life event of her family, creating wonderful memories like Peter Piper Pizza birthdays, Christmas Eve traditions, annual peanut butter fudge, baking, playing dominos, shopping, and swimming. Above all, she is remembered for her care, love, and commitment to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family extends appreciation to the doctors and nurses who cared for her at Tucson Medical Center, as well as a special thank you to Dr. Gustavo Ortega for helping initiate the care needed to stay well over the past six years. A viewing will be held in Barbara’s honor on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 10am-12pm at Adair Funeral Homes Dodge Chapel, located at 1050 North Dodge Boulevard, Tucson, Arizona, 85716.
