Laura Elsie Caroline Behnke Jamka died peacefully in Corona de Tucson, Arizona at the age of ninety-nine. Laura is survived by son Kenneth Jamka of Sierra Vista, daughter Gayle Lorentzen of Corona de Tucson; grandchildren Kevin and Eric Jamka of Sierra Vista, Valerie Marine, Andrea Fyock, and Stephen Lorentzen all of Tucson; great-grandchildren Andrew and Jacob Whiteford, Caleb and Ethan Fyock, Cody and Nickolas Lorentzen, and Mikaela, Isabella, and Kevin Jamka. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Florence and Dorothy, and husband Stephen. Laura was born on October 2, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois to Otto and Minnie Behnke. She married the love of her life, Stephen Jamka on November 23, 1938. Strong in faith, Laura was very active in her church throughout the years. She had a beautiful soprano voice and sang hymns for a radio station in Chicago. She was a doctor's office nurse out of school. Mom always devoted herself to her family. We remember Mom as impressing upon us our "faith and family first" values, for always being available and ready to help whenever she was needed. Laura made a lasting impression upon many in her almost one hundred years of life.
