Our beloved Elizabeth "Betty" Wittenberg, 57 passed away suddenly on August 26, 2016 in Tucson, AZ She was born in Richmond, VA to Mary Kay and the late Garland Johnson. She was a loving wife to her husband Tom and a devoted mother to their son Jacob. She is survived by her mother Mary Kay Johnson, brother Owen Johnson (Paula), sister June Johnson, sister Donna Baumann, nieces Shauna Schreiber, Jenny Miller and Melissa Miller and many other special family relatives. Betty graduated from Santa Rita High School and received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Arizona. Over the years Betty worked at the Arizona Daily Star and the Catholic Diocese of Tucson. Betty's kind heart, loving nature and selfless spirit will be an unspeakable loss to all who knew her. Her devotion to her faith, family and how she lived her life, gives us solace that she is at eternal peace with God. A celebration of her life will be held on Sept. 1, 2016 at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers please donate to Humane Society of Southern Arizona at www.hssaz.org or to Catholic Charities at www.CatholicCharitiesUSA.org and make a Memorial donation.
