Erwin Yurs

Erwin Yurs, 95, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2017 in Tucson, AZ. He was born in Elgin, IL on March 4, 1922, the son of Leonard and Minnie (Dittman) Yurs. He grew up on the family farm in rural Plato Center, IL. On September 30, 1948 he married Fern Breum in. Elgin, IL. Erv and Fern lived on their farm on Plank Road in rural Elgin from 1948 to 1971. In 1971, they sold the farm and moved to a smaller acreage on Ramm Road near Lily Lake, IL. They built a new home on this property, and lived there until 2004. In 2004, they moved to Prescott, AZ, building another new home there. Erv and Fern travelled the United States extensively in their RV during their retirement years, twice going to Alaska. Erv was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Erv is survived by his children, Ed (Amy) of Benson, AZ and Pam (Ed) Royalty of Genoa, IL; his grandchildren, Bryan (Nadia) of Tucson, AZ, Beth of St. David, AZ, David (Sharon) of Seattle, WA, Jason (Beth) of Sun Prairie, WI, Alissa and Brendan (Jackie) of Sycamore, IL; his great-grandchildren, Hunter, Autumn, Eliana, Caitlyn, Madison, and Charlie. He was preceded in death by Fern in March of 2009.
