Carl Edward Standifer
July 16th, 1924 - April 26th, 2015
CARL EDWARD STANDIFER Carl Edward Standifer was born 07/16/1924 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He returned to our Heavenly Father at 90 years of age on 04/26/2015 in Tucson, AZ at St. Joseph's hospital. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Carl Alexander Standifer and Nancy Brown Standifer, his two brothers Louis and Frank Rodgers, his niece and nephew Kenneth Rodgers and Marie Lawson, two children Pricilla Dean Hubbard and Glenn M. Standifer and four grandchildren. Carl lived such a full and wonderful life with lots of appreciation and dedication. He was a food service supervisor in the United States Army, dedicated military Army World War II Veteran 547 Combat Engineer, Sixth Army. He retired in 1967 after 22 Years of faithful service at Fort Huachuca, AZ. He received several medals of accommodations. Carl moved to Wichita, Kansas and worked at Beech aircraft and that's where he met and married his beautiful wife of 43 years, Mrs. Wilma Jean Standifer. (He was the love of her life, and she will miss him dearly.) They were both hired at Boeing in 1975 .Carl and Wilma moved to AZ in 1981. Carl switched careers and worked for the AZ State Correctional facility as a food service supervisor for 10 years. Carl was a faithful, dedicated member of the LDS since 1980. He served in many callings during his membership in the church. He was ordained a High Priest by Brother Daniel Raehl on March 29, 1987. Carl and Wilma Standifer were baptized on September 7, 1980 and their marriage was sealed September 19, 1981 at the Mesa temple. In October 2013, he had the opportunity to attend the World War II honor Flight southern AZ memorial with his son Varnado. In 2014 he was surprised with a 90 year birthday celebration with his family, friends and loved ones at the Viscount Suite Hotel. He is survived by his loving wife Wilma Jean Standifer and his children, Clarence (Jackie), Delbert Sr.(Joy), Carl Jr.,(Darlene), Thelma, Yolanda, Yvonne ( Rev Choyce Coleman), Eric, Victoria, Varnado (Suzie). A host of loving grandchildren, Earnest, Jackie, Glenda, April, Latonya, Ingrid, Sherie, Delbert Jr., Carla, Deanna, Christina, Velma, Vana, Willamina, Teresa, Orlando, Prenise, Prentice , Christina, Misty, Kendra, Marla, Kandice, April, Jasmine, Nicaya, Dominic, Erica, Kyle, Sierra, Amarea, Lucille, Lashanda, Troy and Lanika. And a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
