Anita "Ryan" Yvonne Kirk
January 14th, 1935 - November 18th, 2010
Anita Yvonne (Ryan) Kirk It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Kirk, a gentle soul who left this earth on November 18, 2010, at the age of 75. Anita was born to Roland Ryan and Doris (Flinner) Hobson on January 14, 1935 in Whitefield, Illinois, and was raised with her five sisters in Castleton, Illinois. Anita graduated from Bradford High School in 1952. She attended Saint Francis College of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois, graduating in 1955 and commencing a 40-year career as a caring and giving nurse. Anita married in 1958, and had three children, Michelle, Jeff and Lisa. After a break to raise the children, Anita resumed her career as a registered nurse, and eventually was licensed to practice in Illinois, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Arizona. A dedicated and accomplished professional, Anita retired from nursing in 1996. She is survived by daughter, Lisa Kirk of San Rafael, California; son, Jeff Kirk of Flower Mound, Texas and grandchildren, Makena, Connor, and Gillian. She is also survived by sisters, Beverly Anglin (Kewanee, Ill.) and Kate Law (Melbourne, Fla.), many nieces and nephews and countless friends whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by daughter, Michelle and sisters, Betty, Pat and Rose. Anita was independent, adventurous, kind, and generous. She loved and cared and listened without judgment, and she taught us the value of unconditional love and strength of character. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We love you Mom. Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.
