Bonnie S. Smith, 78, a resident of Green Valley, Arizona, passed away on April 21, 2021. She was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Her work had her moving around Michigan to Wisconsin and finally she retired in Arizona. Bonnie was a graduate of Wayne State University, earning her a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with High Distinction. Bonnie was very active in her community. She served the United Way of Oakland County for many years as chair of various committees and as a member of the Board of Directors. She was also active in her church throughout her life; singing in the choir, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees, and working as the Finance Chair. She was active in her children’s activities by being a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and school band treasurer. She later became an Academic Achievement Program mentor, Jaycee Auxiliary member, and League for Human Services member. Bonnie was proud of her 45 year career in the financial services industry. From financial analyst, Loan Operations Manager, Compliance Specialist, to National Bank Examiner, she truly enjoyed her work and the many groups of people she had the joy of working with. She had also earned many awards. Anyone who knew Bonnie understood that travel was one of her passions. She traveled to all 50 states, visited most of the National Parks, cruised the European Rivers, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Mediterranean and Scandinavia areas. She finally retired to Arizona where she enjoyed playing golf, scrapbooking, music and theatre.
