Charles "Chuck" Eugene Hagan
August 25th, 1952 - June 26th, 2023
Charles Eugene Hagan, 70, of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on June 26, 2023 after succumbing to his battle with cancer. Chuck was born on August 25, 1952 to Malcolm Harold Hagan and Ruth Elizabeth Hagan in Decatur, Illinois. He had one biological daughter, Sarah Hagan (Fredericksen) in Illinois. Seeking warmer temperatures he made his way out to Mesa, Arizona where he met his love and life partner, Ruth Seppala Bell and they made a life together in the wild west. He and Ruth, along with their three sons, moved to Tucson in 1994 where he has maintained residence in Catalina. A carpenter by trade and all around handyman, Chuck found a way to partner that trade with his passion of movies. He made himself a member of IATSE 451 as an elected board member. Spending 17 years traveling where he built the sets of many movies such as Maverick, Tombstone, Tin Cup, The Postman, Quick and the Dead, and most recently, Piranha 3D. He enjoyed meeting actors like Kevin Costner, Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, and even lunching with Sam Elliot, Val Kilmer, and Mike Rooker. A fan of both Marvel and DC, he especially favored Captain America and Superman, and even likened himself to the superheros during a dream state. He always loved a good steak dinner, had a sense of humor, and enjoyed a good laugh getting a rise out of his grandchildren through the years. He took pride in maintaining his backyard as his own sanctuary and enjoyed traveling with his wife to the beaches and theme parks of California. Chuck will be dearly missed by his family members who remain earthside, including his wife, Ruth Joy Hagan, sons Ryan Seppala (Ruby Hernandez), Nathan Bell (Mirna De La Rosa), and Brandon Bell (Tylonda Bell). He is also missed by his siblings in-law, nieces, and nephews, as well as his grandchildren, Damion, Lesley, Trinity, Lexie, Devon, Ryan, Shaelana, Aaliyah, Liliyana, and Brevin.
