Mary "MaryLou" Luella Bowen
August 17th, 1943 - February 7th, 2024
Mary Luella Bowen, age 80, affectionately known as MaryLou by those who knew her best, passed away peacefully from this life on February 7, 2024, in Tucson, AZ. Born August 17, 1943 in Oakland, Michigan, she was one of five siblings. MaryLou's memory will be treasured by her surviving family, including her sisters Carolyn (Steven) Koss and Virginia; her children Kim (Steven) and Nickie; her grandchildren Ryan and Lauren; Joel (Jennifer) Acken; Tanner (Brittany) Acken and her great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Madison Acken. The family is also joyfully anticipating the arrival of her great-grandson Walker David. She was greeted in heaven by her son Andy; her husband Gary; her mother Florence; her father Marvin; and her brothers John and Marty Bowen. MaryLou's passions included traveling to her favorite destination Rocky Point and she loved travling when she could. Her culinary skills were a source of delight to those who experienced her cooking and she loved to cook for other and was always trying to feed them. She was always the heart of social gatherings, bringing warmth and joy on every occasion. The family invites loved ones and friends to attend a Celebratoin of Life, which will be held on March 9, 2024 from 1-4 p.m. at her daughter's residence at 2480 W. Placita Algodon, Tucson, AZ 85741. This gathering will be a time to honor MaryLou's life and to share the stories and memories that her presence gifted to each person she met. MaryLou Bown's absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate to have been part of her life. Her spirit, characterized by love, compassion, and generosity wil continue to inspire those she has left behind.
