February 2nd, 1917 - July 22nd, 2014
Pete Chiknas, 97, of Tucson and formerly of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away on July 22, 2014. He is survived by his children, Christina (Dr. George) Sokol and Mark (Jackie) Chiknas; grandchildren David (Sheila), Jenka (Ben), Nik (Aruna), Jennifer (Lou), Adriana, Christina, Stephanie, Matthew, Peter Murdo and ten great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his beloved nephew George (Niki) Gliptis. Visitation will be at Angel Valley Funeral Home at 2545 N. Tucson Blvd, Friday July 25, 2014 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm with a Trisagion at 7:30pm. Mr. Chiknas resided in Charlottesville, Virginia for many years where he was active at Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church and was a life-time charter member of the Monticello Chapter of AHEPA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1145 E. Ft. Lowell Rd, Tucson, Arizona, 85719. Funeral and interment will be in Charlottesville.
