Life Legacy Chris Dale Leiskau, age 61, of Vail, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at his home. He was born in Tigerton, Wisconsin on June 10, 1956. He was the eldest son of Mary Jane Baures and Albert Bernan Leiskau, both deceased. Chris lived on a dairy farm in Mattoon, Wisconsin during his youth and later attended high school in Escanaba, Michigan. Upon graduation Chris went on to study Mechanics at Bay De Noc Community College in Michigan. Chris later enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly and honorably served as a Recovery Specialist Mechanic from August 1974 to April 1980. During his time in the Army, Chris had many accomplishments, including two tours in Germany, numerous accolades and recognitions, and was awarded Distinguished Graduate in his specialized training course. Upon medically retiring from the Army, Chris moved to Tucson, Arizona where he began pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering and took pride in his studies. Chris would go on to work for the Department of Homeland Security and even run his own business “Mechanics Extraordinaire”. Chris was well known as a superb mechanic, accomplished carpenter and precise machinist. He enjoyed mathematics, engineering, drafting, and working with his hands. Chris is best known for his infinite generosity and compassion. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a meaningful and positive way. Above all, Chris was a selfless, loving, and devoted father. Chris is survived by his only daughter, Sara McMahon; sisters, Beverly Kangas, Dawn Bowden, Michelle Bebo, and Shelly Harrison; brothers, Albert Leiskau, James Leiskau, Donald Leiskau, Edward Leiskau, and Charles Leiskau; and many nieces and nephews. Extended family, Janet McMahon, Shelly McMahon, and Shauna Barnett. He was family to many.
