Michael Eckley

Michael Eugene Eckley was born February 28, 1947 in Seguin, Texas. He passed away, suddenly on January 8, 2018. Michael was an amazing father who taught his daughter, Brittany Jade, to be strong and fierce and independent, letting her know that she could do anything she wanted in her life and that he would always be her biggest fan. Michael also created family from loved ones around him. In addition to his siblings, Michelle, Casey, Carl and Kenny, his heart expanded to include many friends. Michael honorably served in the military during the Vietnam War and had an interesting, diverse work history. But mostly, he enjoyed life. He loved to paint and he was inspired by his love for nature and Bob Ross’s “happy” scenes. His most special gifts were his heart of gold and his ability to make people feel like they belonged. He did this by cracking jokes, teasing and poking fun, and engaging in intellectual conversations on all manner of subjects. Those who loved him know that while he was taken from us much too soon, we will always carry a piece of him in our hearts. Although he may be gone, we will remember him with laughter, just as he would have wanted. A celebration of his life will be held in Tucson on Saturday, February 24th at Noon.
