Melanie Ann Alcaraz
February 2nd, 1959 - March 13th, 2019
Melanie Ann “Mel” (Meyer) Alcaraz, of Tucson, AZ, passed away March 13, 2019 at the age of 60. Melanie was born February 2, 1959 in El Paso, TX to Kenneth Meyer and Juanita Lovell. She was the oldest of five girls. Melanie was a devoted wife who cherished her beloved husband Jack for 39 years. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Melanie loved and was loved by many: her family, neighbors and “Steelers fans.” She loved to hunt, fish, cook Mexican food and take care of her fur babies. She also had a passion for feeding and taking care of homeless cats and dogs. Melanie worked at Arizona Game and Fish with 25 years of service until she retired in 2012. She later worked part-time for Sportsman’s Warehouse. Melanie was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Lovell, her stepmother Lois Rosenberg, brother-in-law Matthew Clemens and brother-in-law Frank Alcaraz. She is survived by her husband Jack Alcaraz, son Andrew Alcaraz (Monica Rodriguez), father Kenneth Meyer, her four sisters: Veronica (Bob) Hazen, Michele (Wes) Meyer-Adams, Denise Meyer, Teresa Meyer-Clemens, step-sister Shelley (Carl) Van Vleet, Brothers-in-law: Tommy Alcaraz, Louis Alcaraz, and Manny Guillen, Sisters-in-law: Martha Martinez and Mary Ann Alcaraz, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, her loving cats and dogs and a multitude of adopted family, neighbors and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Melanie had an impact on everyone she met. God has received a very special angel and we will love you forever.
