Glenn Ray Wood
March 11th, 1927 - January 10th, 2013
Glenn Ray Wood was called home to be with the Lord, January 10, 2013. He was surrounded by his family at home. Glenn was born on March 11, 1927 in Chandler, AZ to Roy Albert Wood and Florence Sellers Wood. At the age of 17 Glenn joined the Navy and served with honor. After leaving the Navy, Glenn worked for Salt River Power, Southern Pacific, and Silver Bell Mine as an electrician for AS&R Company. Glenn met his wife Catherine Raper and married her in 1955, they were married 57 years. In 1960 they moved to Tucson and Glenn went to work at DMAFB where he worked for 27 years. While at DM, Glenn founded Wood Electric. Glenn was preceeded in death by parents Roy and Florence Wood, Mary Keany Wood, brothers Ron Wood, Ted Wood, Jim Keany, sister Thelma Holt. Glenn is survived by his wife Catherine, children Cathy (Bill) Stinson, Becky (Mike) Hoppe, Bill (Minnetta) Wood, Glenn Jr. (Pam) Wood, brother Pat (MaryAnne) Keany and brother in law Verdie (Catherine) Raper. Five grandchildren, Tim (Christene) and Katie Stinson, Brandon (Meagan) Wood, Robert and Ellen Hoppe. Four great grandchildren, Alex, Zach, Tyler and Kaylee Stinson and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Monday, January 14, 2013, with services immediately following at 10:00 AM, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 300 North Tanque Verde Loop Road, Tucson, AZ 85749. Contributions can be made in Glenn's honor to the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Building Fund. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
