Kathleen Ellen Cannon
January 11th, 1947 - April 12th, 2020
Kathleen “Kathy” Cannon of Trenton, NJ died at her home in Tucson, AZ April 12, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Kathy is predeceased by her son Kevin Vannatta, her parents James and Bessie (DiLisa) Cannon, and her brother James Cannon Jr. Kathy’s surviving immediate family includes her son Mark VanDero and son-in-law Ryan VanDero, her grandchildren Analicia, Pablo, Lilyana, Ariana, and Ricky. In addition, Kathy is survived by her sister Dolores Urie, brother-in-law James Urie, sister-in-law Betty Cannon and several nieces and nephews. After 11 years of courageously fighting breast cancer, she succumbed to the disease at the age of 73. Kathy was loved by those in her life and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Having grown up in New Jersey, she married and spent time travelling abroad with her naval husband. Upon her return to the US Kathy had two sons. Kathy built lasting relationships with friends she made through her career at USDA and Princeton University. An avid traveler Kathy visited many parts of the US, travelled to Ireland twice, lived in Italy, visited the shore often, but Disney is where she created cherished family memories. Kathy moved to Tucson in 2014 when her son and son-in-law fulfilled her greatest dream by giving her grandchildren when they adopted a sibling group of five. Kathy’s grandchildren were her greatest treasure and she enjoyed spending time with them making memories. While Kathy has moved on to be reunited with her loved ones, she will be missed by her family and friends until they meet again. Kathy will be cremated with the hopes of one final visit to NJ when it is again safe to travel. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Kathy’s honor to Casa de los Ninos, 1120 N. 5th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705 or visit www.casadelosninos.org/donate.
