Frank George Opaitz 81, from Green Valley, AZ was born December 16, 1939 in Detroit,Michigan and passed away December 19, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his wife Mary Louise of 61 years as well as his children Paula (Fred) Zalewski and Darrin (Chantelle) Opaitz. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren- Kristina(Chris) Cart, Brandon Opaitz (deceased), Austin (Kristina) Opaitz, Nicholas Zalewski, Katelyn, Kaylee & Braylon Opaitz and 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Helen & Eli. He has a surving brother, sister, nieces & nephews. Frank met his wife in 1953 and they were married on May 23, 1959 at All Saints Cathedral Orthodox Church in Detroit, Michigan with 600 guests present. They lived in Michigan until 2006. He retired from Michigan Dairy on December 30, 2004 and in 2006 moved to Green Valley, AZ to enjoy his retirement. Frank was a devout Eastern Orthodox Christian and member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Tucson, AZ. He was a hardworking man and always offered a hand to anyone in need. Frank was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and always wanted the best for them. He enjoyed new and exciting adventures, was an excellent problem solver and had a great sense of humor which will be dearly missed.
