Dorothy M. Murray
January 31st, 1938 - June 21st, 2022
Dorothy M Murray 1/31/1938-6/21/2022 Dorothy was the only child of Jim and Lola Banegas and born in Kingman Arizona in 1938. She was raised at her parent’s ranch in Wikieup, Arizona. She attended school in Wikieup through high school and after graduation was accepted to the University of Arizona. While studying to obtain her bachelor’s degree in medical technology she met her husband Michael W Murray at the Newman Center on campus. Dorothy graduated and worked in a medical lab in Tucson. Dorothy was married in April 1971 in Kingman Arizona and had a large party at the Rafter J Ranch in Wikieup. Dorothy and Michael had their only son in October 1972 and Dorothy retired from working to dedicate herself to being a mom. Dorothy loved to travel, eat, and enjoy all life had to offer. She loved watching sunsets, feeding the wild birds, and having good food and conversations with friends and family. Dorothy loved the outdoors and sharing her passions for art and travel with her cousins’ children. She would always help the school children in her son’s school with science and math homework. She volunteered her time as a docent at Sabino Canyon and would generously give recipes and knick knack gifts to anyone who would ask or she thought would like them. Her life was full, and her Husband was always by her side. She will be a light that has gone out to make our world a little dimmer without her. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Michael W. Murray and is survived by her son Michael J.Murray and daughter in law Wendy L. Murray.
