Angel Valley Funeral Home & Old Pueblo Crematory
Michael "Mike" Kent Green
November 24th, 1947 - August 26th, 2023
My best friend and love of my life came into this world on November 24, 1947, and went to see Jesus' face to face on August 26, 2023. He was pre-deceased by his father, Cyril L. Green, and Doris D. Elder Green. Mike leaves behind his wife, Lisa J Green, Step-son Stephen Wainwright (Nicole), as well as granddaughters, Victoria Atkinson (Bobby), and Saturn Wainwright, and 2 great-grandchildren, Alysiane and Robert Wesley Atkinson. He also leaves a brother, John R. Green, niece Robin Green, nephew, Jon F. Green (Araceli), Joshua Butcher (Andrea) as well as a great-niece, Cheyenne Amalong (Mark) with their 4 sons, and many Brothers, and Sisters-in-law, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Mike was born in Yuma, AZ, and his father was an Architect who designed and built swimming pools for over 30 years. Mike gave his heart to the Lord at the First Baptist Church in Yuma, when he was 6 years old, and he loved the Lord with all his heart. Mike became interested in playing musical instruments when he was very young and played the piano, saxophone, drums, bass guitar, and flute as a teenager. After graduating from Yuma High School (Go Criminals), he went to Arizona Western College to study Broadcasting and Communications and then transferred to the University of West Texas in Denton, TX, and studied Music. He played in several bands in Texas and then traveled the Northwest in Washington, Idaho, Montana, and even into Canada, with his band. He lived in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and Spokane, Washington, and loved the area very much, and was planning on becoming a “Snowbird”, in 2024, when his wife retired from nursing. Mike retired from Raytheon, as a Security Officer in December 2013, and leaves behind many close friends, from his 16-year tenure there. He was always kind to everyone and no one was a stranger to him. He could carry on a conversation and Jesus was usually part of the subject. He will be missed so much, until we meet again at the home we call heaven, with our new bodies in Christ, which will never age or experience suffering. That is a promise from God, that we can stand on. I love you honey, and I am standing only, under the wings of God, and knowing that He will get me through the loss of my best friend and husband of 28 years. The Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
