Patricia "Patti" Krumwiede
November 27th, 1942 - September 25th, 2018
Patricia “Patti” Krumwiede passed away in Tucson, Arizona on September 25, 2018 at the age of 75 knowing how much she was loved. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late July. Patti was a 3rd generation Tucsonan, born on November 27, 1942 to George and Ruth Codd. She grew up with her brother, Mike Codd and sister Kathie Codd (Buehrer). As a girl, she enjoyed taking trips to Crystal Pier in San Diego and swimming at the Arizona Inn. She attended Catalina High School, and then the University of Arizona where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 1964. She then moved to San Diego and taught elementary school for five years while living happily on the beach with her friends, and having traveling adventures during summer vacations. It was in San Diego that she met a dashing Naval Officer named Russell Krumwiede, who would end up becoming her husband of 49 years. After getting married and living in Nebraska for a short time, the couple moved back to Tucson. Over the next several years, in the process of raising her children and volunteering, Patti worked to earn her Master of Education, Counseling and Guidance in 1976. She then started her private practice specializing in marriage and family counseling in 1979, and would proceed to help her clients make improvements in their lives for the next 37 years. Patti will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Russell, and their children, Marcia (Scott Tims), Lisa (Eric) Maurer, Angela (Ray) Runyon, along with brother Mike (Barbara) Codd, and brother- and sister-in-law, Bernard and Pat Nelson. Patti will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren, Annalise Runyon, Rhys Maurer, Lucas Runyon, and Chase Maurer. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Codd, sister, Kathie Buehrer, and her nephews, Brian Codd and Todd Nelson. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, September 28 from 6-8pm at Bring’s Broadway Chapel at 6910 E Broadway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85710. Also, a funeral service in memory of Patti will be held on Saturday, September 29, at 11:00am at Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2331 E Adams St, Tucson, AZ 85719, with The Rev. Dr. Richard Mallory officiating. There will be a short reception following the service. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, a donation in the memory of Patricia Krumwiede can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at https://www.pancan.org/
