Richard James De La Rosa
December 13th, 1957 - December 5th, 2018
Richard James De La Rosa age 61, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday December 5th. He was born December 13th 1957 in Tucson Arizona at Saint Mary’s hospital to James and Emma De La Rosa. He graduated from Copper High School in Abilene Texas and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served his country. He retired after 30 years as a juvenile detention officer in 2014. He married Yvonne De La Rosa November 14th 1998 at the De Grazia mission in Tucson, Arizona. Richards’s joys were raising his three children, cooking, riding his Harley, playing his guitar and other musical instruments, spending time with family, laughing with friends, sitting on the porch watching the rain with his dog stogi, and going on adventures with his wife. Richard spent his life influencing others with his easy going ways. Richard is often described as a badass with a kind heart. He is survived by his wife Yvonne De La Rosa; children Alton Rowland, Shalohm Rowland, and James De La Rosa; brothers Tony, Bob (Sandy), and Dave / skull (Cathy); sister Emmita Buglewicz (Mike); Brother in-law James C. Henderson (Linda); nieces and nephews Richard, Samantha, Zach, Tiffany, Christine, and Murphy; and mother in-law who he adored Holly Babb-Preusser. He leaves numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends that he considered to be family. He was proceeded in death by his mother, father, and Sister Angie. All are welcome to attend services at Bring's Broadway Chapel 6910 East Broadway Boulevard Tucson, Arizona, on Tuesday December 11th from 5 PM to 9 PM to grieve the loss of this great man and to celebrate his life
