MSgt. (Ret) Alexander “Mitch” Mitchell passed on April 8, 2019. Born in Steubenville, Ohio March 22, 1941 Mitch was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy L. Mitchell. Serving with the USAF for 21yrs, travels brought Mitch and his family to Tucson. Mitch is survived by their three children Betty (Art), Chad (Leslie), and Katy (Gerry). Mitch and Dorothy were grandparents to four grandchildren Kay (Jamie), Robert Jr. (Jen), Alexander M, Daniel, and four great grandchildren; Titus, Jackson, Micah, and Nora Grace. Also survived by his younger brother, George Mitchell (Sandy) of Steubenville, Ohio. Retired from the USAF Davis Monthan in 1980, Mitch’s hobbies included cars, sports, and he loved The Pittsburg Steelers. Upon retirement from the Air Force, Mitch owned and operated multiple Chevron service stations around Tucson for 29 years and founded Grant Road Automotive. Mitch retired from automotive in 2007 and spent time traveling and enjoying life. A memorial will be held for Mitch Monday April 15, 2019 at 10am at Brings Broadway Chapel 6910 E Broadway Blvd. services with military honors will be held at All Faith Cemetery in Tucson immediately following.
