Ludovina "Lu" Ochoa (Lem) Garcia
July 6th, 1926 - December 10th, 2019
GARCIA, Ludovina Ochoa (Lem) 93, (actually 49 and holding) of Tucson was called home to the Lord, on December 10, 2019. She died peacefully with her daughter Veronica at her side. Lu was born on July 6, 1926 in Tucson, AZ. She was a proud alumnus of Tucson High School. Lu was preceded in death by the love of her life John B. Garcia and is now reunited with him for eternity. She was also preceded in death by her mother Carmelita Ochoa Lem, father King Bo Lem, brother George (Virginia) and sister Mary (Charlie). She is survived by her son John (Patty), daughter Veronica (John), brother William (Christina), grandchildren Devin and Ryan Koch; Crystal Siqueiros, Danielle Sanchez (Freddy); and great-grandchildren Nicolas and Liliana Sanchez. Also survived by two cousins and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Lu made many friends during her life and travels. She, husband John, and children John and Veronica spent many happy years travelling with their Airstream trailer and had so many fond memories of her caravanning with the Wally Byam Caravan Club International. She had many memories of John’s postings as a criminal investigator with the Bureau of Indian Affairs to various Native American Indian Nations including the Tohono O’odham (Sells, AZ), Uintah and Ouray Ute (Ft. Duchesne, UT), and White Mountain Apache (Whiteriver, AZ). She was a great cook, a seamstress, an experienced bookkeeper, and extremely frugal. Her smile and thoughtful sayings were given freely to all. She thrived on making friends and talking their ears off. Her memory was like a steel trap. Before John retired from Federal Service, they spent several years with family and friends building their summer home in Pinetop Lakes, AZ. As she said often, “What a life, what a life.” She will be missed but will live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved and knew her. John and Veronica have made the following arrangements: Visitation: Sunday, December 15, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85710. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, December 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco, Tucson, AZ 85710. Interment follows at Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery - All Faiths Cemeteries, Mausoleum B; 2151 S Avenida los Reyes, Tucson, AZ 85748. After the services, a luncheon will be served at the church.
