Walter "Curly" Johnston Kerr
August 12th, 1924 - March 20th, 2023
Walter Johnston "Curly" Kerr was born August 12, 1924 in Fresno, California to the parents of Abbie Johnston and Walter Gee Kerr, and died March 20, 2023 in his home in Eugene, Oregon. Walter joined the United States Marine Corp at the age of 17. He later served in the Pacific Theater during WWII, including the battles of Guadalcanal and Bougainville. In 1945 he married Ruth Ann Williams. Throughout his life Walter worked in the forestry industry both privately and with the United States Forest Service. Walter was proceeded in death by his first wife, Ruth (d. 1992) and his second wife, Wanda (d. 2010) and is survived by his son Terry, of Carson City, Nevada, a daughter Sherri, of Eugene, Oregon, a stepdaughter Judith of Florence, Oregon, a stepdaughter Lori of Richland, Washington, a grandson William, of NSW, Australia, and one great-grandson, Clayton.
