Daniel Maynard

Daniel Maynard passed away on August 25 at Peppi’s House hospice in Tucson. Born on July 14th, 1943 in Illinois, he served in the Air Force and worked at IBM throughout his adult life. In 1981, the family moved to Arizona where he eventually retired. Dan was known for his sense of humor and good-natured sarcasm by everyone who knew him. He was a diehard Cub’s fan, enjoyed music (both country and western as he liked to say), and faithfully followed all of his grandkids’ activities. He and his wife Carol traveled extensively with their dear friends Jackie and Floyd Mallory and had the opportunity to see much of the world. He will be greatly missed. Dan is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol, his daughter Julie and her husband Tim, his son Patrick and his wife Krista, and grandkids Alexi, Kenzie, Ashley, Aidan, Jacob, and Satchel. Due to COVID restrictions, a small service will be held at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church in Tucson at 10 am on August 29th, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date for the summer of 2021 at Patrick and Krista’s lake home in northern Minnesota – a favorite location of Dan’s for many years.
