Kimberley Anne Elliott

Kimberley Anne Elliott Kimberley was born February 11, 1966. She entered the world as the largest baby in the nursery. So, I am not surprised that her life was full of many accomplishments. Setting Kimberley apart were her fierce commitment to justice, sense of service to others, and her devotion to her family and friends. As a Girl Scout she learned leadership skills and found a purpose in serving others. Throughout her spiritual life she turned to God for guidance when challenged. In fact, during her cancer journey she prayed for a miracle so she could see Matthew grow up. Her miracle during her six years of cancer was she was able to pass on her spirit and lesson of life to Matthew. Kimberley graduated from the University of Arizona as a Public Health Educator. She educated so many people on how to stay healthy and take control of their lives. She was a Life Coach as well as brought this same laser focus to each client she worked with over the years. Her greatest campaign was to raise the awareness of colon cancer and the need to get screened early. As a result, over 200 people took up the challenge. Kimberley was always larger in life on the volleyball court, at health fairs and, most importantly, as a Mother. When Matthew was born she was determined to shape his life in the most positive way and with lots of humor. There are too many memories to mention, but each one enriched Matthew’s life. Another bonus that came from Matthew was her gift of writing children’s books. Her book, Twin Heroes, is in libraries across the nation and honors the memory of September 11, 2001. All of her books were inspired by Matthew’s humor and curiosity. Matthew will always be her Love Bug. Kimberley passed on September 11, 2020. In one way, a perfect day because of her book. She was only 54 and she had hoped to have many more years. Kimberley leaves behind her son, Matthew Lucas Elliott-Sankey, her parents, Kent and Jacquelyn Power, a brother, Craig Elliott (Ferdi Agusta) and a sister, Amy Gheisar (Richard) and children, Natalie and Nicholas and the Power family. Plus, Matthew’s Father, Robert Sankey and the Sankey family, Grandma Betti and the Wood family, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Robert (Bucky) and the Elliott family, Uncles Doug and Mike and Aunts Sharyl and Barbara and the McCarthy family, Don and Linda Rippe. Nhan, Levi and Addison -Kimberley and Grandma Laurie and the Cohen family plus many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is joined in Heaven with Little Kent III, Aunt Gina, Eric Maez, Eric Cohen, her Dad’s Edd Wood and Jim Elliott. Kimberley was a loving Mother, amazing daughter, fun-loving sister, and caring niece and cousin. In addition, she was an educator, author and a super Volleyball player. Whenever Kimberley entered a room, she brought joy, laughter and positive energy greeting everyone with her beautiful smile and gorgeous blond hair. In fact, everything she did in life was done with passion and determination. I know her wish would be that each of us get screened for colon cancer and find a passion and use it to make a difference in this world.
