NELSON, Omer Dean, 89, of Tucson, Az passed away October 16, 2020. Born in Tucson, Az on January 13, 1931 Dean graduated from Amphi High School in 1949. He earned his Masters Degree +60 hours from the U of A. He taught 6th grade at Menlo Park Elementary for most of his 30 years with TUSD. He was married for over 50 years to his sweetheart, Deanne Jean, who preceded him in death. Dean was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served 3 missions for the LDS church. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict Dean and his 3 brothers and 3 of his 4 sons are Eagle Scouts. He is survived by his 7 children; Mike (Lisa) , Sheryl (Kris) Brown, Debra (Steve) Dinkel, Anna (Michael) Tolman, Fred (Faith), James (Susan) , and David (Toni), 29 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. His funeral and Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am, October 31,2020 at the LDS chapel located at 6901 E Kenyon Dr. A viewing will be held from 9:00-9:30 am that morning at the church building. He will be buried at the LDS Binghampton Cemetery.
