Jera Lee Miller

Jera Lee Miller, 75, passed away on June 16, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on November 29, 1945, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Laurits and Vernette Rasmussen. She briefly attended St. Olaf College and then lived in Queens, NY for several years before moving to Colorado Springs for the next 30 years. In 2001, she moved from Colorado Springs to Tucson with her husband, David Miller (d. 2005). Jera and David loved Tucson and always thought of it as a special kind of paradise. Many happy times were spent enjoying everything the Sonoran Desert has to offer. Jera was a natural with numbers and worked throughout her life as an accountant and bookkeeper. She also took great pride in her abilities as a cruciverbalist and never tired of this daily diversion. Her love, integrity, honesty, sense of humor, and a willingness to help others will never be forgotten. She is survived by her son, Timothy Prow, of Denver; her two stepsons, Daniel Miller of Fairbanks, AK, and Donald Miller of Sunrise, FL; and her brothers, Neil Rasmussen of Dallas, TX, and Tim Rasmussen of Coolidge, AZ. Her son, Grant Miller, preceded her in death in 2017. A commemoration of her life will be held later this year for family and close friends.
