Rafael Vasquez
December 18th, 1936 - September 13th, 2021
Rafael Vasquez passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on September 13, 2021. Rafael led a beautiful, fulfilling life and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Corrinne Vasquez, his children and grandchildren. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico he moved to New York at the young age of 13 and overcame adversity. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Marine Corps where he courageously fought in the Vietnam war. Later Rafael gave more than 25 years to IBM and then pursued a second career with the US Treasury department. He was a husband, father, friend, coach, mentor and sports enthusiast. He loved the Cowboys, SF Giants and Los Angeles Lakers. Aside from watching professional sports he devoted his free time to coaching his children's various sports teams. Rafael enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and going to the casino. He always wore a smile while carrying a cup of hot coffee. He will be truly missed but never forgotten.
