Memorial

Marie Antoinette Kabat 94, simply ran out of steam on Monday, August 26, 2013. Born a force to be reckoned with, in Cleveland, Ohio, May 31, 1919 to Bertha and Joseph Marek. She worked and attended college before marrying "her one and only" Edward Kabat in 1945. She then began her family and her Real Estate career, before moving to Tucson in 1956. Once in Tucson she immediately became active in St. Joseph's Church. Afraid she would miss something she joined everything. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Blue Army, founding charter member and officer of the Catholic Daughters, President of the VFW Auxiliary, First President of the Women's Real Estate Board and member of the Fiesta Committee. Those are just the ones we can remember. She also volunteered with poor and veterans. She prayed the rosary daily. Her hobbies included painting, crocheting, search and find puzzles, bingo, and talking to everyone she met. She loved to dance, along with her husband. She drove, like she did everything else, with abandon. While busy with all of this and a Real Estate career, she still raised three children with humor and emphasis on education. Her husband was her love. She was a comet and we all tried to hang on for the ride. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory; her parents, her brother, Leonard; her brother, Lawrence and sister, Betty. Survived by her husband, Edward; her daughter, Nancy; her son, Geoffrey; her grandson, Nico; her granddaughter, Jade and many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be before Mass on August 31, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St Joseph's Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. Memorial brunch will follow. Father John Allt will be presiding.
