Ronald "Ron" Michael Moss

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Moss on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at his home in Wilsonville, OR. Ron leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories with family and friends. He was born on January 26, 1953 in Riverton, WY to Benjamin O. Moss II and Gloria (Carrigan) Moss. Raised in Lander, WY with two brothers and two sisters, Ron graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1971. After High School, Ron joined the US Air Force and served from 1971-1975. During part of this time he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. 

After leaving the service, Ron moved to Eugene, OR where he lived and worked for many years. Growing up he worked in his father’s grocery stores in Wyoming and continued this line of work throughout the rest of his career, working for Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, and later Albertsons as a Manager. Ron married Sally Sieverkropp, his wife of 42 years, in Beaverton, OR in 1982. He was a longtime resident of Wilsonville, living there since 1992. 

Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, camping, attending concerts, and gardening. He always had a green thumb and had many house plants, flower gardens, and a vegetable garden every summer. 

He loved traveling with extended family and especially enjoyed the natural beauty the Pacific Northwest offers, as well as trips to Hawaii, and road trips to Wyoming and Arizona. Ron would find any opportunity to fish on his travels. 

Ron was a sports fan and could often be found cheering on the Oregon Ducks and Portland Trail Blazers. He loved animals, especially dogs, and he found himself in a family of dog lovers growing up, and good fortunate would have him join Sally's family who were also dog lovers through and through. He had dogs throughout his life and as his children grew up, found himself surrounded by dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, and more. 

Ron is survived by his wife, Sally Moss, daughter Amy Moss (son-in-law Joe Thomas), and son Spencer Moss; beloved dogs Lucy and Bear; siblings Lynn (Doug) Miller, Sharon (Anthony) King, and Steve Moss; sister- and brother-in-laws including Linda and Randy Shipley, Scott Sieverkropp, Reka (Tom) Sieverkropp, James (Pat) Sieverkropp; many nieces and nephews; and close friends Sig and Michele Paulson. 

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Tyler Moss; parents, Benjamin and Gloria Moss; brother Benjie Moss; brother-in-laws Bob and Tom Sieverkropp; and niece Kylie Whipkey Sieverkropp.
