Reuben “Ray” Carlholm, 80 years old, passed away peacefully at his home on April 1, 2024, with his wife and daughter by his side. 

 

Ray Carlholm was born in Lewellen Nebraska, on December 25, 1943, to Reuben Edgar Carlholm and Dorothy Virginia (Temple) Carlholm.

 

Ray was a man of integrity and compassion.  He worked for many years on the family ranch in Arthur Nebraska until the late 70’s when the cattle market dropped, he went to Colorado to begin his career in the “oil patch” which lasted for over 40 years.  He started out in the oilfield before CDL’s, OSHA, H2S Monitors, while working his way from truck driver up to Operations Manager.

 

In his spare time Ray Carlholm enjoyed spending time with his family the most.  He cherished all family members and friends and loved making/creating gifts from his woodworking or his leather craft skills for those special people in his life.  He enjoyed camping and fishing or in his younger years a good game of golf.  His sense of humor and warm smile brightened every room he entered.

 

Ray Carlholm was a devoted husband for over 61 years to Linda Lorene (Moss) Carlholm.  Through this union three children were born, along with numerous grand children and great grandchildren.  He was proceeded in death by his Father Reuben E. Carlholm, His mother Dorothy V (Temple) Carlholm, Youngest Daughter Valery Lorene (Carlholm) Strader.   

 

Ray is survived by his wife Linda L Carlholm,  Aurora CO, Son Randall Ray Carlholm (Leslie Carlholm) Ord NE,  Grandson’s Rick Carlholm Rapid City SD, Matt Carlholm Ord NE, Daughter Theresa J Carlholm Killdeer ND, Grandson Austin R Carlholm Greeley CO, Grandson Ronald Carroll Colorado Springs CO, Great Granddaughter Lucy Carroll Colorado Springs CO, Granddaughter Amber V Strader Lakewood CO, Great Grandson Miles Stumpf Aurora CO, Great Granddaughter Marlee Witzel Norfolk NE.  Sister June Ray Canbria CA, Sister Jeanne Clary Reno NV.  Many nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

 

R. Ray Carlholm leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  A celebration of life will be held later this summer for family and friends to attend.  Date and place have not yet been determined.
