Scott Maurice Brown

1954-2024

Scott was born May 4, 1954 in Boise, Idaho, to William Weber Brown and Jerine Eloise Brown. He grew up in Meridian, Idaho, and attended Meridian High School. He had 2 brothers, Patrick and Michael.

Scott joined the Marines after graduating from Meridian High School and was stationed in Okinawa during the Vietnam War.  He then served as a Police Officer in the Idaho State Police (weights and scales division) in the Lewiston area.  He was in the Air Guard at Gowen Field in Boise, Idaho, for 18 years and finished his career of public service as a Boise City Code Enforcement Officer.

Scott loved spending time working on cars, hunting and fishing.

There is an Army jeep in his garage that he was in the process of restoring.

He liked firearms and had a number of both pistols and rifles (many of which he assembled himself).  He went on a deer hunting trip last fall after he found out he could get a “handicap” hunting license and shoot right from a car window!

He always made people smile with his personal style of “grumpy” humor. He spent many weekends tinkering in his garage in Cascade, enjoying the scenery and wildlife of

Idaho.  He would travel to and from Cascade with his favorite cats, Ruth and George.  He had fox and deer that would come to his porch to be fed.  Scott and Cathy were married at his house in Cascade.

They liked to travel to the coast in Scott’s Lincoln.  In 2018 they took a trip to Missouri to visit Cathy’s hometown.  On this trip they visited Yellowstone Park, Mount Rushmore and other sights along the way.

Scott is survived by his wife, Cathy Mae; his two brothers: Pat (wife Kay) and Mike (wife Rosella); two sons: Jason (wife Alexandra) and Drew; and his four grandchildren: Gabriele, Joshua, Maven, and Cora.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm, on Friday May 3, 2024, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, Idaho.

Reception following at Eagle Christian Church , 100 S Short Road, Eagle, Id.

We Entrusted Scott Brown's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
