Memorial

John Copeland went home to be with our Lord on February 23, 2021. He was born on August 9, 1951 in Little Rock, AK, and soon after moved to California with his parents, Gene and Marion Copeland. Six years later, his brother Mike joined the family. John was baptized on May 13, 1964 at South Hills Church of Christ and continued his walk with Christ faithfully throughout his life. John proudly became an Eagle Scout on February 4, 1969. He continued to honor their legacy in everything that he accomplished. John embodied "The Scout Law" to its fullest being that he was a man of strong character; trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. These words describe the kind of Christian, husband, father, son and friend he was to everyone around him. He went on to graduate from Mt. San Antonio College in 1972. John married the love of his life, Colette, on October 23, 1976, and later had his son, Justin, in 1981, and his daughter, Staci, in 1984. John loved spending time with his family and friends, going on vacations where he got to enjoy boating on the Colorado River, camping, motorcycle riding, and sitting around the campfire, sharing memories and stories. John liked working in the garage on various projects, learning bits of trivia about anything and sharing what he had learned. He enjoyed all kinds of outdoor activities, including all aspects of being a gun owner. After working in the mortgage business many years and truck driving for a few after, he retired with Colette in 2016 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. John is survived by his wife, Colette; son, Justin; daughter, Staci; grandson, Gage; and many other family and friends that loved and adored him.
