MARY PATRICIA FITZPATRICK

Mary Patricia Fitzpatrick was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, just a few minutes before her twin sister, Katherine on Nov. 28, 1928. Her parents were Agnes Kofron and Thomas Fitzpatrick. She had two older brothers, Bob and Don, both deceased. The family moved from Cedar Rapids to Los Angeles in the summer of 1945 lured by the nice weather. Mary graduated from high school i n Los Angeles. She attended Pepperdine College and then worked as a secretary for Stauffer Chemical Company. This is where she met her future husband, Jerry Fitzpatrick.They married Nov 6, 1954. Shortly thereafter they moved to Burlingame, CA. Four children resulted from their union: Sheila Fitzpatrick, Erin Parker, Mark Fitzpatrick (Rhonda) and Shawn (Sheila). Mary and Jerry were partners in Crest Dry Cleaners. Later Mary worked for the San Mateo Unified School District and the U.S. Postal Service. In 1983, they moved to San Juan Capistrano, CA. In 2006 Mary moved to Brentwood in the East San Francisco Bay Area. In 2010 she moved to El Dorado County to live with daughter Erin and family. Mary is survived by her four children, sister Katherine and 12 grandchildren. “Many remember her for her conscientious nature, warm smile and her gentle but social nature.” "She was a lifelong practicing Catholic involved in various church roles including Eucharistic Minister.
