Deanna Catherine Smith
May 1st, 1979 - August 15th, 2022
Deanna (Guthrie) Smith passed away peacefully while she slept on August 15th, 2022. Deanna was known by all who knew her to be strong and brave. She fought hard, long, and bravely against the cancer that eventually claimed her life. Deanna was born on May 1st, 1979 in Mesa, Arizona to Steven Guthrie and Deborah Haycock. Deanna was married on December 15th, 2001 to Peter Smith. They were married 20 years and had five children together. On September 4th, 2010 Peter and Deanna were sealed to each other and their children for time and all eternity in the Sacramento, California, Temple of their LDS faith. Deanna spent most of her life living in California. She graduated high school in El Dorado Hills, California. She then went on to receive an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Ricks College in Idaho (now known as BYU Idaho). Later in life she accomplished her goal of returning to College and received a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Marriage and Family studies from BYU Idaho. Deanna loved the ocean and coast, particularly the foggy and misty California and Oregon coasts. She loved to garden and loved California Poppies. Deanna loved being a mother to her five children and you could always find her doing fun things with them and in the middle of all their activities and daily routines. Deanna is survived by her parents, Steven Guthrie and Deborah Haycock. Her husband, Peter Smith. Her children, Georgia Smith; Warren Smith; Deacon Smith; Sawyer Smith; Violet Smith. And her siblings, Aaron Guthrie; Travis Guthrie; Brian Guthrie; Chelsea (Guthrie) Hart; Kirstin (Guthrie) Mahrt. Deanna was loved by many and her influence was felt far and wide. ‘Goodbyes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end, they simply mean we will miss you, until we meet again.’ A Celebration of Life will be held in Deanna’s honor on August 27th, 2022, at 11am at the LDS Church Building in Camino, California.
