Virginia June Hawkins
April 24th, 1936 - November 29th, 2020
Tribute Virginia was born near Palisade Nebraska on April 24, 1936. She was the oldest of two daughters, born to Edward and Vera Barger Jirik. Growing up on a farm near Palisade and graduating from Hayes Center High School in 1954. Virginia married Morris Anderson on May 16, 1954 in Palisade, and lived on a farm near Wallace Nebraska until 1968. The family moved to Ogallala, where she worked at TRW, until moving to Colorado in 1978, where she settled into working at Storage Technologies. After her divorce from Morris, she met and fell in love with Richard Hawkins, whom she married December 10,1982. Over the years, Richard spoiled Virginia as they created many beautiful memories together, starting in Northglenn, then to Thornton and on to building their dream home in Grand Lake Colorado, moving back down to living on the plains in Keenesburg, and most recently settling in Meade, Colorado. Virginia suffered a stroke in August of 2019 and peacefully passed away with Richard by her side, at home on November 29, 2020. She had reached the age of 84 beautiful years. Some of Virginia's hobbies included; sewing, painting ceramics, cooking, art's & crafts, gardening, visiting with friends and selling Avon, but her real love was spending time with her family. That's what made her the happiest. She also had a real love for all animals, all throughout her life. Virginia is survived by her sister, Kathryn Simmerman of Owen Wisconsin, her husband Richard Hawkins of Mead Colorado, one son Craig Anderson of Keenesburg, Colorado, two daughters, Barbara Juarez of Brighton Colorado, Kaylene D'Andrea and her husband David D'Andrea of Brighton Colorado, a stepdaughter Shelly Hansen and her husband Scott Hansen of Thornton Colorado.
