Marie S. Gardner
September 18th, 1913 - December 17th, 2008
Marie was born on a ranch near Willows, California on September 18, 1913 and passed away on December 17, 2008 at her home near Oroville. Marie is survived by daughters, Marie Louise Perez of Glenn and Helen Y. Sutton of Chico. Her son, Fred Gardner of Paradise, passed away in 2006. Her grandchildren are: Suzie Murphy (Mike), Debi Kelchlin (Steve), Juanita Anderson (Dennis), Joe Perez (Teresa), Sherry Shirley (Kevin), Sherman Sutton (Vicky), Marvin McTigue (Marlena), Machele Clark (Gary), Denise Bixler (Kenny), Darrel Gardner (Debbie) and Max Gardner; 36 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren. Marie became an LVN after her children had left home and worked from 1959 to 1978 for the Butte County General Hospital in Oroville. She was a long time member of Unity Church in Oroville. Marie enjoyed working in her yard and garden. She was a member of the Pardise Rock and Gem Club in the 50's. She loved to travel in her VW Bug all over the western states. Ft. Bragg was her favorite destination and her ashes will be spread near her favorite beach. A memorial "Time to Remember" will be held January 3, 2009, 12 noon at Cornerstone Ministries, 845 W. 4th Avenue, Chico. A fellowship luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: Butte Home Health & Hospice or to the Chico Salvation Army.
