James "Doug" Douglas Anderson

On February 4th, 2013 James Douglas Anderson passed away peacefully in his home at Sierra Terraces in Chico, CA, with loving family members by his side. Doug will be dearly missed by so many. We find comfort in the belief that he is now together again with his beloved wife of 71 years, Bobbie, who passed on in 2006. Doug was born in Missouri on February 7th, 1920 to Douglas Anderson and Marie Larkin. Doug married Barbara Bellinger in 1942, served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and continued working with Lockheed Missile and Space Corporation until his retirement in 1980. Doug and Bobbie lived a rich and full life, cherishing their many friendships across the US. They spent their early retirement years in Grass Valley, California and then settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They were endless wanderers taking road trips each Spring in their motor home to South Carolina where Doug’s wife ‘Bobbie’ was born and where they loved to spend time at the beach or by traveling to Tucson, Arizona in winter months where they looked forward to spending time with their many friends. They will live on in loving memory through their 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Private family services to be held in the Spring.
