Peter Andrew Lund
January 5th, 1925 - September 3rd, 2009
Peter Andrew Lund of Biggs, died peacefully in his home on September 3, 2009 at the age of 84. Peter (also affectionately known as Andy) was born in Sacramento, California in 1925 to Danish immigrants, Niels and Fieda Lund. Peter graduated from McKlatchy High School in Sacramento in 1943, then served in the Army Air Corp until 1945. He trained as a fighter pilot in the P40 and P51. Thankfully WWII ended and he returned home to attend Cal Berkeley where he met his beloved wife, Evelyn. The were married for 58 years. Peter worked as an appraiser for U C Bank for 15 years. Then he became a farmer, full time, where he grew rice, wheat, prunes, walnuts and hay in the Natomas, E Nicolas, Richvale and Biggs. He loved the outdoors and spent his free time hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, boating, sailing and flying. Peter Andrew was prededed in death by his sister, Mary Davis and by his brother, Niels Harold Lund. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lund; his son, Martin (Susan) Lund; daughter, Claire (Paul)Berkley; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jim, Niels, Heidi, Kevin, Anders and Lisa; three great grandchildren, Jayden, Collin and Macy; and two nieces, Kit Davis and Gail Stickney.
