Vivian C. Tveit
December 29th, 1930 - February 8th, 2019
Tribute Vivian C. Tveit, 88, of Longmont, CO, died peacefully on February 8, 2019 in Longmont. Vivian was born December 29, 1930 in Greenbush, MN. She lived in Haug, MN; Badger, MN and then on the farm in Roosevelt, MN where she met her husband, Warren, at the one room school house. They married in 1949. They had 5 daughters and moved to the Iron Range, Minnesota in 1955. Vivian moved to Longmont, CO in 2010 after her husband Warren passed away. Vivian was an artist & musician. She loved singing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting & rosemaling. When she was 41, she went to cosmetology school and owned a beauty shop in her home until 1990. She was active in the Lutheran church for 60 years and worked as the church secretary and also for Youth for Christ. Some memories from her grandchildren: “Spending summer weeks with her and grandpa, getting perms, picking veggies, grilling bbq chicken, painting, baking, Dixie cups of marshmallows & raisins, singing in the choir loft with her at church, cinnamon gum, watching Twins games, sliding down that carpeted staircase, the wigs, the teeth, watching grandma play HER Game Boy, going to “bad” movies with her in Virginia. Loved that she enjoyed being with us and was super spunky!” “I love that she taught us all how to make lefsa & flatbread and spent time teaching me handsewing (embroidery & cross-stitching) and knitting. And she always put curlers in our hair so we could pretend we were Shirley Temple. She encouraged us to play & be creative…I love that!” She is survived by her five children: Dawn McIntyre (Joe Marino) of Albuquerque, NM; Deanna (Daryl) Brekke of Rock Island, IL; Linda (Bob) Clark of Kenora, Ontario, Canada; LuAnn Lindberg (Danny Urquhart) of Rio Rancho, NM and Deb Tveit of Longmont, CO; her sister Avis Bryduck of Benson, MN; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren, her parents Manda & Fred Lieberg, her brothers Earl & Allen, her sisters Velma, Verna, Ethelyn; and also her feline friend and companion, Kitty. A memorial and luncheon will be held Monday, February 25, 10:30 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 805-3 rd Ave. (3rd & Terry), Longmont, Colorado. Cremation has taken place & her ashes will be dispersed to her favorite places in Minnesota.
